An elderly human woman with muscular arms and owner of The Delighted Wife. She is easily angered and violent, having murdered her husband in the streets. She was not arrested because she murdered every town guard who came after her. Her surname Thousand was apparently given to her for how many people she murdered.
Her only rule in The Delighted Wife is, "no killing paying customers." Fights are broken up, but murdering someone who still has money to spend gets you banned for a few days.
Moira claims to have never known her parents, having grown up in the circus. She has a wooden heart and has the scar on her chest to suggest it is both true and visible when she wishes to show it off. She also claims to have broken Kreedis' nose, and several others back her up on this fact. She has palpable disgust for most of the party, but warms up to Cordelia after she expresses some appreciation for Moira's tough and violent attitude. Moira apparently outranks the town guards when it comes to their own jail. She can sentence customers to imprisonment there and the guards take her word for it, locking up and freeing prisoners based on what she says.
Moira returns in the episode A Classic Case of Manassas, Virginia, traumatized into only saying her name. She reveals that she had turned her name to Moira Two-Thousand for unspecified reasons. We later learn that Mother took control of Soaking Valley's population, implying she had to fight her way out by killing other citizens.
