You'd think a waterfront town like Piss Harbor would never run dry. And usually? You'd be right. Then this episode came along and turned everything on its head. Episodes have a habit of doing that, don't they? Anyways, can our heroes solve the mystery of the Piss Harbor drought? And will it have something to do with the episode's special guest (Zach Cherry)? Impossible to know until you listen!
Summary[]
Piss Harbor is facing a terrible drought as the party meets up at a local comedy club. Mabeline Moonlight dispatches them on a bounty for someone who’s been hoarding the water and causing the drought, with the promise of the mayor to absolve the hunters of one sin. They scout out the area and see a patch of green that Edgica senses holds the water they need. They find a well-watered home with an orc with a gnoll under his hat stirring a pot of water on a higher floor. They pose as potato deliverymen, though the orc Gloop eats the entire crate hole. He shows no interest in the party as he is obsessed with preparing his specialty: a pot of water. He explains that he is trying to impress his wife/boss, his ex-wife, and his mother-in-law who are all coming to dinner and have very particular tastes. When Tommy Whistle crosses him, Gloop doesn’t hesitate to hurl him into the pot, immediately boiling him to death. In a grieving panic, Gloop attempts to eat Edgica as well, but falls under the throes of her madness. He witnesses the spirit of Tommy, who forgives him for giving him water when he was so thirsty and encourages him to win over his guests. Moose convinces the gnoll (Grassy) to puppet Gloop into dropping Edgica to regain his sanity. The party agrees to help him impress his guests so he’ll release the water.
Gloop greets his guests, trying to meet their conflicting needs. He begins to win them over with the help of the party members, and growing in confidence, he successfully wields Edgica and uses her power to impress his guests. He uses her to sever the Tommy Whistle from his soup. Tommy returns, but declares himself the “frog in black” for losing his flavor. Gloop uses her to separate the frog he'd previously killed at his last dinner party, but the frog is long dead and does not come back to life. In his grief, Gloop attempts to eat Edgica again. She takes over his mind as she destroys it, showing him her true form as a beautiful woman with blood for hair. She returns as Gloop’s loved ones turn into a raging storm cloud that rains over Piss Harbor.
The group meets with the mayor who grants them spiritual forgiveness. Tommy wishes forgiveness for eating his wife. Neil is forgiven for taking Moose’s sexual experience by baptizing him, removing his virginity with sexual magic. Moose is forgiven for killing his brothers. Edgica asks forgiveness for locking Jonathan Large in a bathroom so he couldn’t join this adventure. Jonathan asks to be forgiven for being there the whole time and never talking.
The mayor turns to the camera and forgives the listener for listening to Rude Tales of Magic.
